Team-building day levels

Team-building day levels

We have created three levels as a guide; you’ll need to choose one that you think is most appropriate for your school or group. We then tailor the types of  team-building activities you will undertake and the learning outcomes for your day.

Level 1 - younger age groups - primary

  • Leaderless
  • An emphasis on working as a team and having fun rather than achieving the task

Level 2 - early to mid secondary

  • A mix of leaderless and led activities
  • Understanding how to solve a task as well as working as a team
  • Reflection on personal and group performance

Level 3 - GCSE and A-Level year groups

  • Understanding how to lead a team
  • Chance to practice leading the team
  • Time for reflective analysis of personal and group performance

  • Transition day
  • Engagement
  • Confidence building

Team-building learning outcomes

Team-building learning outcomes

We work on a reflective learning model which means that all the tasks we use encourage participants to consider and reflect upon their behaviour in a group. We will also work with you to ensure the outcomes align with any specific areas of the curriculum you wish to focus on. The tasks are broken down as follows:

Briefing and planning:

  • Each task starts with briefing and planning to encourage listening and communication

Staying on task:

  • Clarification of objective
  • Planning how to achieve objective
  • Allocation of responsibilities and accountability to stay on task

Reflect and debrief:

  • Everyone is encouraged to reflect on the process with the group and within themselves

Team-building day reviews

Team-building day reviews

"The children all look forward to their day of activities, love the whole set-up, great instructors and always feel they want to stay longer. By the end of the day, even children who have tended to be ‘loners’ are part of the team and listening skills improve hugely."
