Recommended Highlights:

Trekking the Tour du Mont Blanc.
Mont Blanc is the third most visited natural site in the world and a Mecca for Alpine mountaineers. The world famous Tour du Mont Blanc circumnavigates the entire massif passing through France, Italy and Switzerland. The trek can either be done in daily bite sizes to suit a varied itinerary or in its entirety either in a clockwise or anti-clockwise direction.

Climbing on the Via Ferrata
Not only will you experience magnificent scenery and views on your trek but you'll also have an opportunity to experience the thrill of real mountaineering on the Via Ferrata. This mountain route is equipped with fixed cables, stemples, ladders, and bridges. It is suitable for beginners of all ages and gives an introduction to the feeling of true mountaineering. This activity can be upgraded depending on the climbing skills and expertise of your group.

Mer de Glace (Glacier and Ice Grotto) and Montenvers Railway
The Mer de Glace (Sea of Ice) is the longest glacier in France at 7 km long and 200m deep. The glacier's speed, although not perceptible to the naked eye, is considerable, travelling more than 120m a year! A walk up to the glacier and a small gondola down take us to where we enter the Ice Grotto. Afterwards there is the opportunity to take the Montenvers Railway (a Cog Railway) back down to Chamonix.

Aiguille du Midi
Chamonix is famous for its spectacular cable car up to the Aiguille du Midi (3842m). The Téléphérique de l'Aiguille du Midi was built in 1955 and held the title of the world's highest cable car for about two decades. It still holds the record as the highest vertical ascent cable car in the world, from 1,035 m to 3,842 m. There are two sections: from Chamonix to Plan de l'Aiguille at 2,317 m and then directly, without any support pillar, to the upper station at 3,777 m (the building contains an elevator to the summit). The span of the second section is 2,867 m measured directly, but only 2,500 m measured horizontally. It thus still is the second longest span width, measured directly. The tramway travels from Chamonix to the top of the Aiguille du Midi – an altitude gain of over 2,800 m - in 20 minutes!

Chamonix
Chamonix-Mont-Blanc or, more commonly, Chamonix is a commune in the Haute-Savoie department in south-eastern France.
Situated near the massive peaks of the Aiguilles Rouges, Chamonix lies under the highest point in the Western Alps, Mont Blanc. In the summer months Chamonix is a mecca for alpine mountaineers, drawn to the area by challenges like the north, west and south-west faces of the Dru, the Frendo Spur on the Aiguille du Midi, the north face of the Grandes Jorasses and the massive face climbs on the south side of Mont Blanc.

Aosta
Aosta was settled in proto-historic times and later became a centre of the Salassi, many of whom were killed or sold into slavery by the Romans in 25 B.C. After 11 B.C. Aosta became the capital of the Alpes Graies ("Grey Alps") province of the Empire. Its position at the confluence of two rivers, at the end of the Great and the Little St Bernard Pass, gave it considerable military importance, and its layout was that of a Roman military camp.

Courmayeur
Courmayeur is the Chamonix of Italy. It is one of Europes most famous ski locations, and contains the Giardino Botanico Alpino Saussurea, which describes itself as Europe's highest botanical garden. The cobbled streets and hustle and bustle of Italian culture contribute to a wonderful atmosphere in this Alpine town.
